Here's an interesting article discusses Lockheed Martin's involvement with the Air Force to develope a tool to search social media networks for sentiment data in Third World countries. It will be interesting to see if the defense industry can create better tools than the big web properties. History has shown necessity is the mother of invention. History has also shown that the innovators generally cash in on a big payday.
